BTS's Jimin Makes Generous Donation To His Alma Mater In Busan

It was belatedly revealed that BTS’s Jimin donated desks and chairs to his alma mater Busan High School of Arts.

On February 9, it was reported that Jimin donated new desks and chairs for all 1200 students attending the Busan High School of Arts. Jimin reportedly did not want to make his donation known to the public and performed the good deed quietly during winter break.

Last year, Jimin donated 100 million won (approximately $87,914) to the Busan Metropolitan City Office of Education to be used towards education development, and 30 percent of the donation went to his alma mater. The singer also gave out signed BTS albums to the 60 last graduates of a now-closed elementary school in Busan, and he provided 10 of those students with funds to buy their middle school uniforms.

Jimin has also inspired his fans to give back to the community. One of his fan clubs donated 10 million won (approximately $8,416) as scholarship to the Busan High School of Arts last month, and the scholarship will be given to students in need who are studying dance, music, or art. Last October, in celebration of Jimin’s birthday, fans started a ‘blood donation relay’ project.
