T-ara's Hyomin, Yoon Se Ah, YouTuber Risabae, And Song Ga In Donate To Help With Coronavirus Outbreak

As the surge in novel coronavirus (COVID-19) cases continues in South Korea, celebrities and citizens are making donations to help with the outbreak.

On February 24, T-ara’s Hyomin shared through Instagram that she was donating 3,000 masks to the city of Daegu, which is one of the regions most affected by the outbreak. She wrote in the caption, “I hope that this can be a small help to the citizens of Daegu. Stay strong, everyone!” Her agency also confirmed that the donation had taken place.

Earlier that day, the Green Umbrella Child Foundation shared that Risabae, a popular beauty vlogger and YouTuber, had donated 24 million won (about $19,700) to purchase infection prevention supplies for children, including 20,000 masks and 1,500 hand sanitizers.

Actress Yoon Se Ah donated 10 million won (about $8,200) to the city of Daegu, where she was born and where her father’s family is from.

Trot singer Song Ga In has announced that she will be donating all the proceeds from her upcoming remake of the 1940 song “Spring Dreams of Flowers and Willows.” She had sung the song during a “Miss Trot” youth concert and afterwards many fans had asked her to release an official audio version. As the rest of the youth concerts ended up postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak, she made the decision to release the single on February 26 as a gift to fans. All of the proceeds will go towards prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
