SBS Issues Apology For Drama PD's Assault Case + Shares Current Work Status
SBS apologized for the recent incident where a SBS drama PD drunkenly assaulted passersby.
On March 6, SBS released a statement that reads:
SBS sees the alleged assault by a drama producer on March 1 as a very serious matter. The company is currently investigating related cases and will handle them according to company regulations. We deeply apologize for the trouble that has been caused.
Regarding his current work status, SBS shared, “It has been confirmed that there are no dramas currently being prepared by the producer.”
On March 5, MBC’s “News Desk” reported the SBS drama producer was booked by the police on charges of assault and insult and causing disorder at a police station in the neighborhood of Hannam in Yongsan District of Seoul on May 1.
According to the police investigation, he was the main producer of a SBS Monday-Tuesday drama last year and is known to have a criminal record. The police requested an arrest warrant for him, but the prosecution rejected it.
