Super Junior’s Agency Clarifies Misunderstanding About Kim Heechul’s Status In Group
On March 17, a source from Super Junior’s agency Label SJ stated, “Kim Heechul is still a member of Super Junior. Although he can’t perform on stage, he is participating in albums and other content as usual.”
On the March 16 broadcast of JTBC’s variety program “7.7 Billion in Love,” Kim Heechul said, “Due to the aftereffects from a past car accident, the condition of my leg worsened, so I told the members, ‘I don’t think I can participate in team promotions any longer,’ but the members said, ‘You don’t have to dance on stage. We can overcome this together.'”
The way the scene in the show was edited made it appear as if Kim Heechul was saying he had left Super Junior, prompting Label SJ to clarify that this was not the case. Regarding the rumors of Kim Heechul leaving the group, the source reiterated, “The way the part was edited left room for misunderstanding.”
Currently, Kim Heechul is busy promoting through various variety programs including SBS’s “My Ugly Duckling” and “Delicious Rendezvous.” He also participated in Super Junior’s latest repackaged album “TIMELESS” in January.
