Go Jun Hee's Agency Reveals That Malicious Commenters Have Been Indicted

Go Jun Hee’s agency has shared an update on the status of the legal action they are pursuing against malicious commenters.

On April 20, Mountain Movement stated though a press release, “Out of 32 malicious commenters, all have been indicted with the exception of two, whose whereabouts could not be identified. The police sent out several rounds of notices to the commenters and issued arrest warrants so that they were wanted throughout the country. Through this tough legal action, we have proved how much we were affected by these commenters.”

The statement continued, “Go Jun Hee’s long battle with baseless rumors that had nothing to do with her has finally ended. We did not look idly on the negative effect of malicious comments, but instead mobilized every effort possible in the hopes that the sentence for malicious comments will become more severe. A total of 30 malicious commenters were indicted and fined by the prosecution. Even for those malicious commenters who escaped arrest, through the issuance of arrest warrants and notices, it has been made clear that investigative agencies are taking malicious comments seriously.

“We received countless letters of apology saying that they had said meaningless things about somebody who was famous. Those ‘meaningless words’ can murder someone’s character and ruin someone’s life. This has been proved multiple times in today’s society. Malicious comments are a frightening crime in which someone can brutally annihilate another person and get off with a light punishment, so it’s true that many celebrities have been reluctant to sue until now. The process of filing a lawsuit can be traumatic for the person who is suing. Plaintiffs often cry when they read the contents of the lawsuit they are filing. Plaintiffs have to go through that difficult process in order to sue. But Go Jun Hee kept in frequent contact with her lawyer and cooperated with the investigation, with the result that strong legal measures were taken even against those who refused to be questioned or apprehended.”

Go Jun Hee has been involved in legal proceedings against malicious commenters for more than a year, after she was swept up in rumors that she was the actress named in Seungri’s group chat when the chatroom participants discussed inviting girls to entertain a foreign investor visiting South Korea at the time.
