Watch: "Queendom" Contestants Share Thoughts On Their Experience + Give Advice To "Road To Kingdom" Contestants

The contestants of “Queendom” shared their thoughts on “Road to Kingdom”!

On April 30, Mnet caught up with some contestants of “Queendom” including MAMAMOO’s Hwasa and Solar, Lovelyz’s Kei and Mijoo, Oh My Girl’s YooA and Hyojung, AOA’s Chanmi, (G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon and Yuqi, and Park Bom.

Chanmi began, “It’s finally here,” and Hwasa jokingly sighed before bursting into a laugh with Solar. She said that she predicted that a boy group version of “Queendom” would be created, and Solar added, “I guessed that there would be ‘Kingdom’ since there was ‘Queendom.'”

Kei commented, “I was really looking forward to and curious about what kind of performances will come out,” and Mijoo added, “Men have things like in-sync choreography. I thought that it might be more fun if there were things like male sexiness and decadence.” Park Bom named powerful stages as something she’s looking forward to.

Chanmi stated, “There’s a lot of value in attempting this challenge. I think all groups would want to appear if they could. I think it’ll be the same for ‘Kingdom’ as it was in ‘Queendom,’ but you gain so much. We didn’t lose anything. There isn’t a program like this where stages that idols and singers dream of can come true. It’s a chance where you can really show what you want to do without any limits, so I think there’s plenty of value in appearing on the show.”

Jeon Soyeon said, “The thing about a competition is that you gain something if you win first place, but you also gain a lot if you get last place or place in a lower ranking. So, please don’t be torn up that you got last place and know that the only place you can go is up. Work hard. Good luck!” Yuqi nodded along in agreement before also adding, “Good luck.”

YooA commented, “I think it’s a festival, not a competition. Everyone can enjoy it, there’s a lot of things to watch, and people go to festivals to be happy together. I think of it as a competition in hopes that everyone can be happy.” Hyojung praised YooA’s statement.

“Road to Kingdom” premiered its first episode on April 30 and will air new episodes on Thursdays at 8 p.m. KST.
