ATEEZ To Promote Korean Culture Overseas As 2020 KOCIS Honorary Ambassador

ATEEZ will be representing Korean culture abroad as an hononary ambassador of the Korean Culture and Information Service (KOCIS)!

On May 8, the members of ATEEZ were appointed as ambassadors for KOCIS by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Yang Woo at a ceremony in Seoul. KOCIS is an organization that’s affiliated with the ministry and runs Korean cultural centers around the world, aiming to enhance Korea’s image internationally.

ATEEZ has started off their role as ambassadors by taking part in promotional videos for Talk Talk Korea and a campaign titled “Overcome Together” that shares tips on how to prevent the spread of COVID-19. ATEEZ is now the second group to take the role of KOCIS honorary ambassador, following Stray Kids who held the role last year.

Minister Park Yang Woo said, “Currently, people around the world are struggling with feelings of isolation while in quarantine in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.” He went on to say, “The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will continue to share Korea’s excellent culture and Korean Wave content with people overseas as we provide comfort and a feeling of solidarity to help people get through COVID-19. I hope that this will be even a small source of hope for those in Korea and abroad.”

ATEEZ is an eight-member boy group who debuted in October 2018 and has gained a large number of fans, particularly abroad. They most recently made a comeback in January with the album “TREASURE EPILOGUE : Action To Answer” and took No. 1 on the iTunes Top Albums chart of many regions around the world.
