Xiumin, D.O., Yoon Ji Sung, Sungyeol, Kim Min Suk, And More Cast In Military Musical
Famous celebrities have been cast for the rerun presentation of the military musical “Return: The Promise of the Day” (literal title)!
“Return: The Promise of the Day” is an original army musical that deals with the topic of excavating the remains of the heroic soldiers who sacrificed themselves to protect their country during the Korean War.
Hae Il, who is respected by his friends for his wide breadth of knowledge, will be played by Lee Jae Kyoon and Lee Chan Dong. Hae Il’s twin sister Hae Sung will be played by Yang Ji Won, Lee Ji Hye, and gugudan’s Kim Sejeong. Jin Goo, who makes his friends smile with his innocent heart, will be played by Kim Ki Soo.
Furthermore, Seung Ho’s grandson Hyun Min will be played by FTISLAND’s Lee Hong Ki and EXO’s Xiumin. Hyun Min’s friend Woo Joo, who has a refreshing personality, will be played by Kim Min Suk and INFINITE’s Sungyeol.
The musical begins with war veteran Seung Ho wandering around the mountains of the Dabu neighborhood in search of the remains of his comrades who died in combat. Scenes of the present day Seung Ho, who returns to find his fellow soldiers, as well as the the young Seung Ho who fought during the Korean War, will alternate throughout the musical. This year, the musical will also honor the 70th anniversary of the Korean War and the 3.17 million soldiers who fought in the war for their service and sacrifice.
“Return: The Promise of the Day” is scheduled to run from June 4 to July 12 at Olympic Park’s Woori Art Hall in Seoul. The musical will be following social distancing protocols and place empty seats between people in order to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and to ensure the audience’s safety.
