Park Shin Hye Is Terrified By What She Sees Outside In Upcoming Zombie Film “#ALIVE”
“#ALIVE” is a “survival thriller” film about the sudden outbreak of a mysterious illness that causes those infected to attack other people. As the disease rapidly spreads throughout Seoul and grows out of control, survivors are trapped alone inside their apartments without access to cellular data, Wi-Fi, texting, or phone calls. Yoo Ah In and Park Shin Hye will star in the movie as Joon Woo and Yoo Bin, two survivors that are isolated in the middle of a now-dangerous city.
Park Shin Hye described her character as a poised individual with strong survival instincts. “Yoo Bin is both composed and extremely attentive to detail,” explained the actress. “She’s a character who calmly ponders how to survive.”
In newly released photos from the upcoming film, Yoo Bin stands watch by her window, clutching a pair of binoculars as she assesses the situation outside. In one of the photos, she appears horror-stricken by something she sees outside her window, and she seems to be attempting to communicate with other survivors through a walkie-talkie.
Director Jo Il Hyung had nothing but praise for Park Shin Hye, who is said to have not only breathed life into the role of Yoo Bin with her acting, but also to have pulled off difficult action scenes for the film. Park Shin Hye also reportedly displayed strong chemistry with co-star Yoo Ah In as they portrayed two characters struggling to survive together.
Jo Il Hyung commented, “[Park Shin Hye] is an actress who has no limits.” Explaining why he had chosen her for the role, he recalled, “I thought that Park Shin Hye would be able to bring Yoo Bin’s distinctive characteristics to life.”
“#ALIVE” is scheduled to premiere sometime in late June. In the meantime, you can check out the film’s first trailer here!
