5 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Miss

Chuang 2020” (also known as “Produce Camp 2020”) is back with a third season! The series is the official Chinese version of the “Produce 101” series. This season features 101 female contestants who will vie for the chance to debut in a girl group at the end of the show.

Here are five reasons why you should not miss this sensational reality competition show!

Warning: minor spoilers for the show below.

Star-studded mentors and a very special guest mentor

While there isn’t a nation’s producer representative this season, the show has a group of star-studded mentors to train the contestants. The mentors are singer-songwriter Mao Bu Yi, f(x)’s Victoria and former EXO members Luhan and Tao. With Victoria, Luhan, and Tao’s experience as idols and established performers, the contestants are definitely in good hands.

No doubt, one of the most anticipated moments of the show is the interaction between Luhan and Tao. The former group mates do not disappoint. They show off their great chemistry, often playfully teasing each other.

And that’s not all. The special guest mentor for the first group performance challenge is none other than former EXO member Kris. The reunion on “Chuang 2020” comes about six years after they left the group, which is why the contestants and even the fellow mentors were touched to see the three former EXO members together on stage.

Competition is fierce this time

Unlike past seasons where 11 contestants got to debut in the final group, only seven contestants will get to debut this season. With just seven spots to fill, the competition is certainly more intense than ever.

To shake up the competition, the show also introduces several new elements. For instance, to win the chance to appear in the music video for the theme song, the contestants have to choose if they want to learn the song in the one day class, three days class, or five days class. Only contestants who choose to do the theme song evaluation in the one day class will have the chance to compete for the centre position. Moreover, if you fail the evaluation, you won’t be able to participate in the music video. A real tough and risky challenge indeed!

Catchy theme song

When you talk about the Produce series, you can’t not mention the theme songs! Apart from having a cool music video to showcase the contestants, the million dollar question on everybody’s mind is: WHO is the center? The center of the theme song is, needless to say, one of the most coveted positions in the series.

Anyway, the theme songs are always impossibly hard to sing but 100 percent catchy. Listen to it a couple of times and you won’t be able to get the song out of your head. The music video for this season’s theme song “You Are Everything To Me” captures the youthful spirit of the girls and their determination in the pursuit of their dreams. It’s so fun and pretty, and it perfectly matches the song’s cheerful and uplifting vibe!

Familiar faces

As with past seasons, there are some faces you might find rather familiar among the contestants!

The more well-known contestants are gugudan’s Sally, Lana (Russian singer who debuted as a soloist in Korea) and former SM rookie Xu Yiyang. Actresses like Nene from the Thai TV series “2gether” and Chen Zhuo Xuan from hit Chinese TV drama “The Untamed” have also caught the viewers’ attention after the success of their respective dramas.

If you’re hoping to support them, the show has also opened up voting to international fans so you can now vote to root for your favorite contestants!

Exciting performances from talented and versatile trainees

With only one chance to make an impression on the audience, the contestants do their very best to showcase their skills and charms at the initial evaluation stage. From the vocal battle to the dance battle, their exciting and impressive performances will surely leave a lasting impression.

For starters, you might not expect a rock band performance from a girl group competition, so this unexpected heart-pumping performance of “Gurenge” (opening theme song for “Demon Slayer”) will absolutely blow your mind away!

With the group battles coming up, there will definitely be many more electrifying performances ahead. Don’t wait, catch up on “Chuang 2020” and support your girls now!
