BLOO Thanks Lee Hyori After His 2017 Track "Downtown Baby" Tops Realtime Charts

Rapper BLOO’s 2017 track “Downtown Baby” has soared on the charts, and he thanked Lee Hyori for its belated success!

Lee Hyori is currently appearing on the MBC variety show “How Do You Play?” along with Yoo Jae Suk and Rain, with the trio planning to make their debut as the group SSAK3 in July.

On the June 13 episode of the show, Lee Hyori sang BLOO’s “Downtown Baby,” as the three cast members were all showing off their talents. Soon after the broadcast, keywords such as “Lee Hyori Downtown Baby” and “BLOO” were ranking high on realtime popular search charts.

When “Downtown Baby” hit No. 1 on Melon’s chart of popular searched songs, BLOO took to Instagram to share a screenshot and ask, “What’s happening right now?”

He then posted a shot of news articles about Lee Hyori’s cover, realtime search rankings, and more. He wrote, “Shout out to Linda G,” using Lee Hyori’s stage name in SSAK3.

BLOO also uploaded shots of the song at No. 1 on charts and wrote, “Drinks on me tonight.”

As of June 16 at 5:30 p.m. KST, BLOO’s “Downtown Baby” had grabbed No. 1 on the realtime charts of major music sites Genie and Bugs, while it also took No. 9 on the realtime chart of Korea’s largest music site Melon. Meanwhile, the MV for the track has reached 3 million views on YouTube.

BLOO shared screenshots of the chart rankings and wrote, “I’m getting criticized and interest is growing, but seriously thank you to my fans who’ve always been with me and to queen Lee Hyori.”

As of 10 p.m. KST, “Downtown Baby” has risen to No. 6 on Melon and remains at No. 1 on Bugs and Genie.
