Watch: N.Flying Wows “Immortal Songs” Audience With Rock Cover Of Jo Jung Suk’s Hit “Aloha”
On the June 20 episode of the KBS 2TV singing competition, the theme of this week’s battle was “songs that caused a stir in the first half of 2020.” Artists went head to head with covers of popular songs from the past six months, and N.Flying was the first performer to take the stage.
Before their performance, N.Flying explained that they had chosen Jo Jung Suk’s smash hit remake of Cool’s 2001 song “Aloha,” which the actor sang for the OST of his drama “Hospital Playlist.”
Yoo Hwe Seung remarked, “We’ve prepared a cover of the amazing song ‘Aloha,’ which climbed back up the charts in 2020. Recently, we haven’t been able to hold concerts or perform live outdoors, so we wanted to put on a performance that could provide some stress relief for both us and the viewers. That’s why we ended up choosing this song.”
He went on, “If the original song had a ‘family vacation at the beach in the summer’ vibe, then I think N.Flying’s rearrangement of ‘Aloha’ has more of a ‘friends in their twenties going to the beach together’ vibe.” Cha Hun chimed in, “They go to the beach together, and it just so happens that there’s a rock festival happening there.” Kim Jae Hyun playfully added, “And it also happens to be Hawaii.”
N.Flying then brought the audience to their feet with their energetic rock cover of the hit song.
