Watch: Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon Prepares For 1st Solo Mini Album + Talks About Missing The Military
On the July 4 episode of MBC’s “The Manager,” Highlight’s Yoon Doojoon appeared with his manager and spoke about his upcoming plans to open a YouTube channel and release a solo mini album.
Yoon Doojoon’s manager shared, “We are both 32 years old [by Korean reckoning]. At our agency, I’m the manager who’s worked with Doojoon for the longest, so we have a special camaraderie. We are extremely close.”
He continued, “Although it’s been two months since he was discharged, [Yoon Doojoon] still talks about the army. He still misses the military.”
Yoon Doojoon explained, “The military was the first time in my twenties where I had a fixed daily schedule. While in the army, both my body and mind became healthier.”
The MCs commented that it had been so refreshing to see how happy Yoon Doojoon looked in his military photos and that he must’ve enjoyed his service a lot if he was still talking about it. He agreed, “That’s right. When I was there, I wanted to leave quickly. But now that I’ve been discharged, I do want to go back.”
Later, Yoon Doojoon and his manager went on a little road trip to film for his upcoming YouTube channel. Yoon Doojoon commented, “I wanted to make vacation vlogs, but I unnecessarily got caught up with the aesthetics of the videography, so now we’re trying to make vacation documentaries.” Despite suggestions to enlist professional help, Yoon Doojoon showed his dedication as he firmly insisted that he would film and edit the videos himself.
After participating in another shoot for his fan meeting poster, Yoon Doojoon gave viewers an exciting preview of his upcoming solo mini album, which will be his first since his debut in 2009. He began recording the intro to the album, “0:00 a.m.”, showing off his soft voice with a completely different vibe from his group promotions.
