Kim Jong Kook, Shin Min Ah, Kim Woo Bin, And More Donate To Help Victims Of Flooding

Celebrities are continuing to aid those affected by Korea’s ongoing heavy rains and flooding.

With Korea’s rainy season beginning in June, torrential rains have been inundating the country in record amounts. These monsoon rains concentrated in Korea’s central and southern regions have flooded residential areas, causing thousands to evacuate.

On August 4, the Korea Disaster Relief Association revealed that Kim Jong Kook donated 50 million won (approximately $42,170) to help those in need. Newsen reported that Kim Jong Kook did not inform his agency about his generous donation.

Shin Min Ah and Kim Woo Bin’s agency AM Entertainment also revealed that the two actors each donated 50 million won to the Community Chest of Korea. The couple has previously made donations to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 earlier this year.

Furthermore, Kim So Hyun contributed 20 million won (approximately $16,880) to help flood victims, according to the Korea Disaster Relief Association on August 5. She has continuously made donations, helping the victims of the Gangwon province wildfire, aiding in the prevention of COVID-19, and more.

A representative of the Korea Disaster Relief Association also revealed, “Actress Kim Seo Hyung donated 20 million won to the association’s ‘2020 Emergency Relief Campaign for Flood Damage.'” The donation will be used to aid the flood victims and restore the areas damaged by the flood.

On August 6, ChildFund Korea revealed that TVXQ’s Changmin has donated 30 million won (approximately $25,330) to help disadvantaged children affected by the heavy rains. According to the organization, Changmin’s donation will be used for repairing the homes of children from disadvantaged families. Changmin shared, “I hope that this will provide some help to the kids who are facing difficulties due to the heavy rainfall.” Changmin previously also donated 55 million won (approximately $44,900) to this organization on Children’s Day this year.
