On August 7, NU’EST’s Ren appeared on SBS PowerFM’s “Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time” to talk about his debut musical “Jamie” (original title “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie”) and the support he’s received from his fellow members.

Ren currently stars in the leading role of Jamie in the musical alongside 2AM’s Jo Kwon, ASTRO’s MJ, and Shin Joo Hyup.

While talking about the musical, Ren revealed that his fellow NU’EST members had prepared a special event for his first performance. He said, “I received rice cake, drinks, and a cake from them. I was able to share it all with the other cast members and staff.” Sharing that the members have attended one of his shows, Ren said, “They gave me a standing ovation and told me ‘You did so well. You’re amazing.’ Being recognized by my fellow members made me feel happy.”

He also shared the supportive advice he received from fellow member Minhyun, who appeared in the musical “Marie Antoinette” last year. According to Ren, Minhyun said to him, “It’s going to be really tough. I can’t describe in words the sense of accomplishment you’ll feel, but it will also be physically and mentally challenging. But I believe that you can do it. If you just do what you do around us, your members, I’m sure the cast and crew will love you.”

Ren also shared his excitement that “Jamie” will have a limited run in Busan this September as that is where his family is. He said, “It feels like I’m returning to my hometown with great success under my belt. My grandma, and all of my relatives will be there to watch me. I’m so happy.”
