IU Donates Cooling Vests To Help Frontline Healthcare Workers Fighting COVID-19 Pandemic

IU has made a generous donation to help provide equipment for healthcare workers as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Korea has been experiencing a resurgence in COVID-19 cases this month, and IU has made a donation to help nurses on the frontline. According to the Korean Nurses Association, IU donated approximately 4,600 cooling vests, valued at around 100 million won (approximately $84,410) through the Community Chest of Korea.

The Korean Nurses Association stated that the cooling vests donated by IU will be sent to various testing stations and medical facilities around the country to help nurses who are getting overheated in the protective gear they wear while collecting test samples and caring for COVID-19 patients. The organization has been sending necessary items to government-designated hospitals and testing centers since June to help combat the pandemic.

This is not the first time IU has donated to help support healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19. She previously donated 200 million won (approximately $168,820) in February.
