Jang Dong Yoon, Lee Yoo Bi, Kim Dong Jun, Jung Hye Sung, And More In Talks For Upcoming Fantasy Historical Drama
“Joseon Exorcist” will be a fantasy-action sageuk (Korean historical drama) that takes place after the establishment of the Joseon dynasty and tells the story of the undead who come back to life after being killed by the royal family. Writer Park Kye Ok (“Doctor Prisoner“) and producing director Shin Kyung Soo (“Six Flying Dragons,” “Nokdu Flower”) will be working together on the drama.
Earlier this year, Jang Dong Yoon was reportedly in talks to join the upcoming SBS drama as the character Prince Chungnyeong. His agency Dongyi Company confirmed, “It’s true that Jang Dong Yoon received an offer for ‘Joseon Exorcist.'”
Jang Dong Yoon will soon star in the upcoming OCN drama “Search,” which premieres October 17.
On September 15, it was confirmed that Lee Yoo Bi is reviewing an offer for the leading role of the new drama, which could be her first return to the small screen in about three years.
Previously on September 2, Kam Woo Sung’s agency WIP said, “Kam Woo Sung received a casting offer for the new drama ‘Joseon Exorcist,’ and he is currently reviewing it. Nothing is confirmed.”
The same day, Park Sung Hoon’s agency BH Entertainment stated that the actor is positively considering a casting offer as well. Recently, Park Sung Hoon starred in the KBS 2TV drama “Into the Ring.”
The next actor in talks is Kim Dong Jun. He was reportedly offered the role of Byeo Ri, who has good looks but keeps his anger pent up inside after being criticized since childhood.
According to J,WIDE-Company on September 14, actress Jung Hye Sung is also considering a casting offer. If she accepts, Jung Hye Sung will be returning to the sageuk world for the first time since starring in the 2016 drama “Love in the Moonlight.”
“Joseon Exorcist” is expected to premiere in 2021.
