C Jamm Receives Sentence In Assault Case

Rapper C Jamm has received a sentence in the first trial for his assault case from 2018.

On September 28, Judge Jin Jae Kyung of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced C Jamm to a six-month prison sentence suspended for two years. This means that C Jamm will be spending two years in probation, but he will have to serve a six-month prison sentence if he violates the condition of the suspension during those two years. The rapper was also ordered to perform 120 hours of community service.

In December 2018, C Jamm became intoxicated at a club in Itaewon and started dancing on top of a platform. In the process, C Jamm allegedly splashed water on a group of people and assaulted one of them, hereby referred to as “B,” when they asked the rapper to stop. “B” was hit in the face by C Jamm, resulting in a broken nose and a four-week recovery period.

C Jamm, who was then indicted on assault charges, claimed that “B” was the first to attack with his fist and that the rapper had hit “B” defensively. However, the court dismissed these claims.

The court said, “[C Jamm] has a history of having received a suspended sentence for illegal drug use, and we considered how the victim’s injuries were significant.” The court also stated that they considered C Jamm’s attack to be accidental and that they saw the rapper’s attempts to reach an agreement with the victim as a positive factor when deciding his sentence.

In 2016, C Jamm was the runner-up on the fifth season of Mnet’s “Show Me the Money.” In August 2018, the rapper received a prison sentence of one year and six months suspended for two years of probation for illegal drug use.
