Moon Ga Young Talks About Her "True Beauty" Character And Working With Cha Eun Woo And Hwang In Yeop
Moon Ga Young talked about her new role in tvN’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama “True Beauty”!
Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, “True Beauty” is a romantic comedy about a girl named Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young) who zealously uses makeup to hide her bare face and combat her insecurities about her looks. ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo will star in the drama as Lee Su Ho, a popular student who has his own emotional wounds, while Hwang In Yeob will play Han Seo Jun, an untamable rebel with a surprisingly warm heart.
Moon Ga Young revealed that she had chosen to star in “True Beauty” because she could feel a bright energy from the project. She explained, “Since Lim Ju Gyeong is a new kind of character I have yet to meet, I had the mindset of wanting to take on the challenge.”
The actress commented, “Since Lim Ju Gyeong is a character who can travel across different genres, her charm is that I can portray her freely. She’ll even have action scenes, so please look forward to Lim Ju Gyeong’s performance.”
On her similarities with her character, Moon Ga Young revealed that the two both had a definitive taste in music. However, the actress explained that she is the type to worry and have a lot of thoughts while Lim Ju Gyeong has a very bright and optimistic personality.
Moon Ga Young revealed, “In episode 1, Ju Gyeong goes through a lot of trial and error before she becomes remarkably skilled in makeup. We had a fun time filming this process, so I’m curious to find out how the viewers will see this.”
The actress also talked about her “True Beauty” co-stars. She shared, “Cha Eun Woo has a tsundere (having cold outward behavior while actually being warm and caring on the inside) charm, and Hwang In Yeob has a charming voice. I’m having an enjoyable time filming with the two of them.”
Moon Ga Young commented, “‘True Beauty’ will be a relatable, lovable, and heart-fluttering drama that paints the concerns, transformations, and growth that everyone goes through at least once in their teens as they become an adult.” She added, “Please look out for how each of the figures will overcome their growing pains to mature.” Finally, Moon Ga Young asked viewers to look forward to the drama.
“True Beauty” premieres on December 9 at 10:30 p.m. KST and will be available with English subtitles on Viki.
