Choi Sung Won's Agency States Actor Is Receiving Treatment For Leukemia

Choi Sung Won is currently undergoing treatment for leukemia.

The actor was diagnosed with acute leukemia in May 2016 and was declared cancer-free in December 2016. He returned to acting in 2017, but he is now at the hospital to receive treatment for leukemia once again.

On November 20, his agency shared, “Choi Sung Won was not in a situation where he was completely cured. He participated in dramas and musical because his health got a lot better. He is currently undergoing treatment, and although his condition isn’t perfect, it’s not anything serious.”

In June, he was part of the musical “Chami,” but he dropped out early due to health issues. Since then, his health declined, and he went back to getting treatment. During the time, a source from his agency explained, “He dropped out of ‘Chami’ because he couldn’t participate until the end. He’s not in a serious condition, but he isn’t healthy enough to be acting.”

Choi Sung Won debuted in 2010 through the musical “While You Were Sleeping,” and he participated in various plays, musicals, and dramas ever since. He is mostly known for his role in “Reply 1988,” and his last drama was “Psychopath Drama.”
