Watch: AKMU Laughs At Their

AKMU made an appearance on the November 20 episode of KBS’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook”!

During the show, AKMU performed their past hit songs “Give Love” and “200%” in a new band version that amps up the energy of the original tracks.

Yoo Hee Yeol asked the brother-sister duo about Lee Chanhyuk unfollowing Lee Suhyun on Instagram, which ended up being reported on the news. The duo previously explained that they had both been surprised by the reports (Lee Suhyun hadn’t even noticed that he’d unfollowed her) and that Lee Chanhyuk was just looking to organize his social media accounts according to his personal vibe.

Lee Chanhyuk said, “My social media is a space for me to express myself. I was looking through my following list, and Suhyun didn’t suit that vibe, so I unfollowed her. I didn’t even really think about it.” Lee Suhyun said, “I had no idea. I learned about it through a news report. I’m still following him now, but I’ve also wanted to unfollow him for a while. I didn’t want to do it without saying anything because I’d look petty, so I’ll take this opportunity to officially state that I will also unfollow him back. Please don’t misunderstand.”

The siblings also reminisced about their first self-written track and said, “We were in elementary school and we really wanted to eat the noodles that were sold at a neighborhood restaurant. We wrote a song about it and sang it for our parents. We wrote our own lyrics to the tune of a song that we had just learned at the piano academy.” The two then sang this song on the show.

Lee Chanhyuk said that AKMU’s new song, “HAPPENING,” was originally supposed to be his solo track. He said, “Because the line ‘we’re too young to fall in love with just one kiss’ didn’t fit with AKMU’s image, I rewrote it to ‘we’re too young to fall in love with just one look.'”

Asked about their future plans, they said, “We’re practicing how to separate ourselves from each other. We have different personalities and we want to show the public how different we are. Lee Suhyun’s solo track ‘ALIEN’ and me taking on more parts in ‘HAPPENING’ are examples of this.” Lee Chanhyuk also showed a solo vocal performance of his own for the first time.

AKMU then performed “HAPPENING” and “Will Last Forever.”
