Watch: ASTRO's Cha Eun Woo Can't Stop Teasing Moon Ga Young Behind The Scenes Of

tvN’s “True Beauty” has shared a look behind the scenes of what went on in the first episode!

Based on a hit webtoon, “True Beauty” is a romantic comedy about Lim Ju Gyeong (Moon Ga Young), who zealously uses makeup to hide her bare face and combat her insecurities about her looks. After she meets Lee Su Ho (Cha Eun Woo), a popular student who has his own emotional wounds, they share each other’s secrets and learn to heal through love.

The making-of video begins from the scene where Lim Ju Gyeong’s mother Hong Hyun Sook (Jang Hye Jin) is shocked by Lim Ju Gyeong’s overdone makeup. The two actresses appear to have grown close already, and Kim Min Ki, who plays Lim Ju Gyeong’s younger brother Lim Ju Young, comments that they look like actual mother and daughter.

Next, Moon Ga Young and Cha Eun Woo are at a rooftop to film the scene of Lee Su Ho’s first appearance in the drama. Moon Ga Young has to fall on Cha Eun Woo perfectly, and they do repeated tries to get the scene just right until the sun eventually sets. Following the difficult scene, Cha Eun Woo coolly walks away from Moon Ga Young. After realizing he forgot to say a line, he returns and apologizes with an awkward laugh. In the next try, Cha Eun Woo says his line correctly and walks away. Moon Ga Young, as Lim Ju Gyeong who has lost her glasses and can’t see properly, follows him while stumbling, making the staff member holding the behind-the-scenes camera laugh. The staff member tells her he laughed because she’s cute, and Cha Eun Woo points at Moon Ga Young.

The video cuts to Cha Eun Woo rehearsing and filming his jiu-jitsu scene. He learns the complicated moves and executes them perfectly during the shooting.

Cha Eun Woo and Moon Ga Young are then shown at the comic book store. Moon Ga Young has to fall on Cha Eun Woo again, and she asks the director if she has to hold his arm as she falls. When she’s told that it doesn’t matter, Cha Eun Woo pretends to have known all along and says, “See, it doesn’t matter,” earning himself a little punch from Moon Ga Young. He even jokes that he has to brace himself for the force of her weight on him, and Moon Ga Young pretends to curse at Cha Eun Woo while covering her mouth from the camera’s view with her hand. From behind Moon Ga Young, Cha Eun Woo playfully brings the book in his hand in and out of her view, and she plays along by trying to catch the book.

They begin filming the falling scene, and Cha Eun Woo fails to hit the light above his head while falling as he’s supposed to. They try again, and he fails again. Moon Ga Young jokingly pressures him by pointing at the light he’s supposed to hit, and Cha Eun Woo brings his head down out of sorriness. They finally succeed in the third take, but what they have to film after that is no easier. To get a closer shot of the fall, the two actors have to repeat the last part of the fall, forcing Cha Eun Woo to repeatedly lift his upper body as if he were doing sit-ups.

Moon Ga Young and Cha Eun Woo are seated on a sofa to film a scene of Lim Gu Gyeong eating ramyun as she reads a comic book. For the scene, Cha Eun Woo says his line, “How old are you?” and Moon Ga Young answers with her mouth full of ramyun. Feeling like she has too much food in her mouth, she stops and asks to do another take with her mouth less full of food, but the director tells her it looked perfect the way she had it.
