B.A.P’s Jongup, Dal Shabet’s Woohee, JBJ95’s Kenta, And More To Star In New Film About Idols
“Idol Recipe” (literal title) is a comedic idol music film about an unknown idol group named Bella, which has become a disorderly mess due to their agency’s poor treatment. Bella overcomes their conflict with an evil manager who tries to sell them off, and they eventually succeed in entering the Billboard charts.
Jongup will be playing Bella’s genius composer Jang Jun. In the film, Jang Jun is a figure who will have a positive influence on the group by producing a song that helps Bella rise to the top. Woohee will play Bella’s producer Kelly, and Kenta will play the group’s talented dancer Redi. Nahyun will take on the role of Bella’s visual Jenia who is dating Jang Jun. The group’s leader and math genius Do Young will be played by Ryu Hoyeon, and the female leader and main vocal Ji Ahn will be played by Sohee.
The film will be helmed by director Peter Lee, who worked on KBS’s “Full House” and SBS’s “Fashion 70s” and “The Great Ambition.” He also produced the web drama “Immutable Law of First Love” in 2015 and the web movie “Romantic Boss” in 2016.
A source from Jongup’s Big Ocean ENM shared some comments about his casting in the film. They said, “Jongup is doing his best to perfectly take on his role in ‘Idol Recipe.’ He’ll showcase a different kind of charm from the kind he exhibits on stage as an artist. Please send lots of support so that Jongup can expand his presence as an actor.”
Jongup, who debuted as a member of B.A.P, recently made his solo debut with the new single “HEADACHE.” He also showcased his acting skills through the play “Lost Village–Donghyuk’s Pocha” (literal title).
“Idol Recipe” will reportedly begin filming in January.
