Jung Woo Sung And Director Talk About Him Joining Cast Of “Delayed Justice”
The SBS drama is about two men representing victims who are falsely accused. Kwon Sang Woo plays Park Tae Yong, a public defender with only a high school diploma, and Bae Sung Woo has been playing the unsophisticated but talented journalist Park Sam Soo who has a knack for writing. It was announced in December that Bae Sung Woo was leaving the cast after being booked for a DUI (driving under the influence), and Jung Woo Sung is taking over as the character Park Sam Soo.
The first photos of Jung Woo Sung in the role were shared earlier this week, showing the actor completely transformed into his character. It’s described that Jung Woo Sung has naturally become immersed in the role, pulling off both the look and emotions of the journalist despite his short time to prepare. It’s said that Jung Woo Sung will put his own spin on the character of Park Sam Soo, who is warmhearted and easily moved to tears, contrary to his harsh words and actions.
Following an enthusiastic response to the first stills of Jung Woo Sung in character, two more photos have been revealed, and the actor and director have shared their thoughts.
“I’m trying to make it so that you feel as little discomfort as possible while watching ‘Delayed Justice,'” shared Jung Woo Sung. “I will film while doing my best so that the drama can wrap up well.”
Director Kwak Jung Hwan said, “Actor Jung Woo Sung is truly a seasoned performer.” He continued, “He perfectly completed his preparations for the character Park Sam Soo in a short period of time. Like the veteran actor he is, his teamwork with his co-stars has been great since the first filming and he’s naturally fit in.”
The director went on to describe how Jung Woo Sung had been as amazing as expected. He continued, “I was surprised by how he’d put a lot of thought and preparation into everything from visual aspects to his way of speaking and small expressions. The main framework of the character Park Sam Soo is the same, but I think you’ll also see another charming quality added by Jung Woo Sung’s own style.” He also recommended that viewers pay attention to Jung Woo Sung’s chemistry with actor Kwan Sang Woo.
Finally, Director Kwak Jung Hwan said, “I’m grateful to actor Jung Woo Sung for joining us without hesitation in a difficult situation. We’re going to do our best to bring the roller coaster in the pursuit of justice to an end in an impressive way. I also express my sincere thanks to our viewers who have waited.”
Jung Woo Sung will appear in the show starting in episode 17.
