3 Points To Look Forward To In The 2nd Half Of “Royal Secret Agent”
“Royal Secret Agent” is already diving into its second half!
KBS 2TV’s “Royal Secret Agent” stars Kim Myung Soo, Kwon Nara, and Lee Yi Kyung and follows the story of a secret royal inspector who goes undercover in the provinces to bring justice, uncover corruption, and solve the people’s problems. With its latest episode, “Royal Secret Agent” has proven its popularity by recording yet another new personal best in viewership ratings.
As the drama heads into the second half, here are three highlight points to pay attention to in the upcoming episodes!
1. The gradual reveal of the past and Kim Myung Soo and Kwon Nara cooperating to uncover the truth
In episodes 1 through 8, the past scars of Sung Yi Kyum (Kim Myung Soo) and Hong Da In (Kwon Nara) were brought to light. Although he was once viewed as a promising talent, Sung Yi Kyum loses his first love to his younger half-brother and falls into a prodigal lifestyle. Hong Da In was originally royalty but chose to become a damo, a woman who works for a Joseon government office, in order to uncover the truth behind her father’s death.
In the January 11 broadcast, Sung Yi Kyum was shocked to run into his first love Kang Soon Ae (Jo Soo Min) whom he thought was dead but was comforted by Hong Da In. She tells him, “If you do not face this truth, you will end up living the rest of your life in even greater fear,” showing off their close relationship and teamwork.
2. The chemistry and growth of the main trio
Although they were a disorderly bunch at first, Hong Da In, Sung Yi Kyum, and his right-hand man Park Choon Sam (Lee Yi Kyung) have grown to become a powerful team. Sung Yi Kyum was initially a man with zero integrity but has now transformed into a righteous person. Hong Da In has been helping the team a lot with her unique courage and bold decision-making skills when in times of trouble. Lastly, as someone who best understands the pain that their people feel, the loyal Park Choon Sam relates best to their concerns and brings a sense of duty to the team.
3. The greater threat behind different wrongdoings
Without a doubt, one of the most exciting aspects of “Royal Secret Agent” is the different crimes that the trio must uncover, solve, and punish. In particular, there is a nerve-wracking tension between prime minister Kim Byung Geun (Son Byung Ho) who keeps committing crimes and government official Jang Tae Seung (Ahn Nae Sang) who aids the inspection team. Viewers can look forward to seeing if and how the trio is able to overcome the prime minister while simultaneously punishing the crimes of others.
In addition, the second half of “Royal Secret Agent” will dive deeper into the love triangle between Sung Yi Kyum, his half-brother Sung Yi Bum, and Kang Soon Ae, as well as Hong Da In’s past.
Episodes 9 and 10 of KBS 2TV’s “Royal Secret Agent” air on January 18 and 19 at 9:30 p.m. KST, respectively
