Watch: Kim Rae Won Trusts Lee Da Hee With His Life In Teaser For Upcoming Drama "L.U.C.A.: The Beginning"

tvN’s upcoming drama “L.U.C.A.: The Beginning” has unveiled a new poster and teaser!

“L.U.C.A.: The Beginning” is an action thriller about a man named Ji Oh (Kim Rae Won) who is being chased for his special abilities, and a violent crimes detective named Gu Reum (Lee Da Hee), who is the only one who remembers him.

The drama is directed by Kim Hong Sun (“Voice,” “The Guest”) and written by Chun Sung Il (“The Pirates,” “My Girlfriend Is an Agent“). Other actors in the cast include Kim Sung Oh, Kim Sang Ho, Park Hyuk Kwon, Ahn Nae Sang, Jin Kyung, Jung Da Eun, Kim Min Gwi, and Lee Joong Ok.

The drama previously unveiled group posters and individual posters for the two leads. The new poster is a “couple” poster that portrays the relationship dynamic between Ji Oh and Gu Reum. Although Ji Oh possesses special abilities that could turn the world upside down, the only place in the world that he is safe is in Gu Reum’s arms. The slogan reads, “If I survive, I’ll go to you,” hinting that the two have a shared past and fate.

A source from the production staff stated, “Ji Oh, who was born strong and thrown out into the world alone, and Gu Reum, the only person who can give him safety and salvation, are connected by a terrible fate. A key point in the drama is how their relationship changes as Ji Oh is ruthlessly hunted down. Please look forward to the emotions created by the two actors’ synergy amidst the powerful action scenes.”

The new teaser gives a hint at the bitter past that connects them both. As Kim Rae Won collapses in Lee Da Hee’s arms, she says in voice-over, “Why aren’t you running away?” He responds, “Because if I run away, I’m afraid I won’t be caught by you again.” Lee Da Hee watches anxiously as Kim Rae Won is revived from an accident in the hospital and says, “Even if I have to dig through your brain, I’ll figure out what happened.” The scene flashes to a childhood photo and a scene of him performing CPR on her. He says, “And what if I turn out to be the one who killed your parents?” She replies with a flash of steel, “Then you’ll die too.” However, she begins to warm to him as she says, “Don’t put your life on the line for me again. And don’t go until I say you can go,” and he makes the promise.
