IU Cast In Koreeda Hirokazu's Upcoming Film Starring Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, And Bae Doona

IU has been cast in Koreeda Hirokazu’s upcoming film “Broker” (working title)!

On February 1, a source linked to the film confirmed, “It is true that IU will be starring in the film.”

It was announced in August 2020 that the Japanese director Koreeda Hirokazu, who won the Palme d’Or at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival with “Shoplifters,” would be taking on his first-ever Korean film. Song Kang HoKang Dong Won, and Bae Doona have been cast in leading roles in the upcoming film.

“Broker” will tell a story revolving around baby boxes, which are set up for people who are no longer able to provide for their babies to anonymously give them up. Director Koreeda Hirokazu revealed that he had begun plans for “Broker” five years ago and met with production team members in Korea to construct the film.

Zip Cinema, which produced the films “#ALIVE,” “The Most Ordinary Love,” “Default,” “Master,” and “The Priests,” will be in charge of production, and CJ ENM will be investing in and distributing the film. Currently, the scenario is being written for “Broker,” and the movie will begin filming this year.
