THE BOYZ’s Younghoon To Sit Out Upcoming “Kingdom” Performance Due To Recent Surgery
On May 20, THE BOYZ’s agency released an official statement announcing that Younghoon recently underwent surgery to remove a steel rod that had been inserted into his collarbone following his injury in 2019.
Although there were no complications from the surgery, Younghoon has been advised by his doctor to “refrain from excessive movement for about two months.” As a result, the agency has shared that he was unable to take part in THE BOYZ’s upcoming “Kingdom” performance for the second part of Round 3, in which the group will be covering EXO‘s “Monster.”
Cre.ker Entertainment has also announced that for the time being, Younghoon will be remaining seated for THE BOYZ’s performances.
The agency’s full statement is as follows:
Hello, this is Cre.ker Entertainment.
We are making an announcement regarding the treatment of THE BOYZ’s Younghoon’s injury.
Younghoon, who injured his collarbone in 2019 and has been receiving treatment ever since, underwent surgery at the end of April to remove the steel rod that had been inserted due to his injury.
Although the surgery to remove the steel rod does not hinder his everyday activities, the doctor advised that [Younghoon] refrain from excessive movement for about two months. Therefore, unavoidably, Younghoon was unable to participate in Round 3 of Mnet’s “Kingdom,” and for the time being, he will remain seated for performances during [THE BOYZ’s] scheduled activities, including the event on May 21.
We will do our utmost to ensure that Younghoon is able to greet fans in good health as quickly as possible.
We ask for fans’ generous understanding. Thank you.
We hope Younghoon makes a speedy recovery!
