Watch: BTS Compliments And Teases Each Other On Their New Looks And Moves While Filming

BTS has shared a behind-the-scenes video from the three-day filming of their new music video, “Butter.”

The “Butter” MV, which was released on May 21 at 1 p.m. KST, has set new view count records for the group, including breaking their own records for the biggest YouTube premiere in history and the most views in 24 hours. The song has also topped iTunes charts around the world and achieved a certified all-kill on the Korean charts.

In the shooting sketch, the BTS members both tease and compliment each other on their new looks, such as J-Hope’s shoulder pads and Jungkook’s hair. They also point out that J-Hope’s new hair color perfectly matches the theme of “Butter.” During their solo shoots, Jin comments that he had worn the sunglasses because he felt the need to fidget with something. When the director suggests that they take off their jackets for their “mug shot” scene, the members hype up RM as he takes his off.

Despite having done something similar for “Dynamite,” the members all share their nervousness for their freestyle elevator scene. J-Hope watches V kick off the shoot and imitates his moves, while RM interprets the elevator scene as a spin-off from their “Dope” elevator scene. Jimin shares that he got nervous after noticing that J-Hope and Jungkook were watching him, while Jin goes at it so hard that his ring accidentally goes flying off, to everyone’s amusement. He adds, “I don’t actually do freestyle, so I just pick out some moves from the choreography that aren’t in the music video and do those instead.”

On the third day of filming, which is dedicated to filming choreography, RM asks Suga as the “prophet” of the group whether “Butter” will do even better than “Dynamite,” and Suga responds, “Of course.”
