Girls' Generation's Taeyeon Opens Up About Finding Herself + Wanting To Be A Positive Influence

In a recent interview and pictorial for Cosmopolitan magazine, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon reflected on her identity and goals as an artist.

The singer, who will be gracing the cover of the magazine’s July issue, posed for her pictorial in a variety of looks that highlighted her “charismatic but lovable” charm.

During her post-shoot interview, Taeyeon remarked, “This was my first pictorial in a long time, and I liked that I was able to show a wide array of different sides of myself. I think it’ll be a pictorial that remains in my memory.”

Last November, Taeyeon officially joined the cast of tvN’s variety show “Amazing Saturday,” and she happily boasted that she has become close with her fellow members in the time since.

“Becoming a cast member on ‘Amazing Saturday’ was a huge blessing in my life,” enthused Taeyeon.

She went on to add, “I really like all of the members. The more time that passes, the more often I find myself thinking, ‘So this is what it means to be colleagues.'”

Taeyeon also revealed that she has recently spent quite a bit of time thinking about who she is as a person and an artist.

“Without meaning for it to happen, the time I’ve spent on my own has grown quite long,” said the singer. “I’ve been spending that time at home writing in my diary and thinking about myself.”

She went on to share, “When I first made my solo debut, I worried a lot about what kind of color I should display as an artist. Now, I feel relaxed enough to be able to look back on myself. I feel like I’m just now finally starting to know what kind of person I am.”

As for her goals as an artist, Taeyeon explained that she hopes to make music that can have a positive influence on listeners.

“I want to sing songs that can give people strength, like vitamins,” she declared. “If possible, I’d prefer to sing bright and cheerful songs.”
