Police Will Not Pursue Charges In Park Na Rae's Case About Sexual Jokes Made On Variety Show
The police have decided to drop the case regarding Park Na Rae making sexual jokes on a web variety show.
In March, comedian Park Na Rae apologized after she made sexual jokes with a male doll on an episode of a web variety show that she was hosting with YouTuber Hey Jini. As a result of public criticism, the web variety show was canceled and the production staff also apologized. However, in April, the police received a request to investigate the incident through the public sinmungo, where the public can send in complaints.
On June 28, the Seoul Gangbuk Police Station stated that they would be dropping the charge against Park Na Rae of violating the Prohibition on Circulation of Unlawful Information under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc.
A source from the police stated, “It cannot be said that Ms. Park performed an obscene act, and the video in question cannot be classified as obscene material.”
