MONSTA X's Shownu Enlists In The Military + Members Send Him Off

MONSTA X’s Shownu has enlisted in the military!

The idol previously wrote a letter to Monbebe (fandom name) to share that he would be enlisting in the military on July 22.

Starship Entertainment also released a statement announcing that Shownu would undergo basic training for three weeks before fulfilling the rest of his mandatory military service as a public service worker. This is due to his medical background, which includes surgery for retinal detachment in his left eye and a dislocated shoulder.

Ahead of his enlistment, he posted on MONSTA X’s Twitter account photos of himself with his new buzz cut. He wrote in the captions, “Be careful of the heat and take care of your health and happiness. I love you.”

Shownu also shared photos with the rest of MONSTA X who accompanied him to the training center. The captions read, “I promise to meet you again, and I’ll come back in good health. I’ll become more mature and return with a better side of me. Thank you!” He showed his affection for his fans with the hashtag, “I love you, Monbebe.”
