Kim So Hye’s agency has shared an update on the police investigation surrounding the school violence accusations made against the actress.

In February, an anonymous person wrote in an online community that Kim So Hye had been a perpetrator of school violence in middle school. At the time, Kim So Hye’s agency S&P Entertainment requested an investigation with the police against the post creator.

On July 27, the agency released a new statement revealing that the post creator had admitted to lying about their claims. Read the full statement below:

Hello, this is S&P Entertainment.

In February 2021, we filed a complaint and requested an investigation regarding the post uploaded on an online community.

We will provide the truth of the case as well as updates on the police investigation.

Following Kim So Hye’s debut, several malicious posts were uploaded online with claims that they were victims of school violence, and during the agency’s process of taking legal action, the person who spread the rumors was pinpointed.

The person stated that they uploaded the rumor out of curiosity without confirming whether it was true or not. When it was revealed through a police investigation that the contents of the post were false, they asked for leniency and submitted a written apology.

Through the latest police investigation, the initial creator of the rumor was identified, and the suspect went to the police station and stated that they had made up the rumor posts and comments.

It was found that the suspect who claimed to have been bullied was in fact one of the perpetrators of a school violence case that Kim So Hye was a victim in during middle school.

The suspect admitted to their wrongdoing during the investigation process, and to the investigation authorities they submitted a written apology stating that they posted the malicious rumors out of jealousy when they were young and that they are reflecting on and regretting their actions.

In a separate case from the one above, when [Kim So Hye] was in the first year of middle school, she had a misunderstanding and quarrel with a student from a different school, which led to a school violence prevention committee to open. However, she met directly with the student from the time, apologized to them, and resolved their misunderstandings through a conversation.

In the case of the student above, we have a heavy heart regarding the fact that they were involuntarily brought up during this incident despite not being the direct writer of the post and had to suffer damage and discomfort because of it. We sincerely apologize once more.

Through this incident, [Kim So Hye] will look back on her actions from her younger days and work hard to show an improved and more mature version of herself as a better adult.

The agency also promises to support the actress fully in every way possible so that her determination shown above can be fruitful.

Moreover, we will continue to actively take legal measures without leniency against any malicious posts that spread or reproduce groundless rumors, insult or slander, or sexually harass our actress.
