Watch: Ji Jin Hee Must Untangle A Web Of Secrets + Save His Son In Teaser For “The Road: The Tragedy Of One”

tvN’s upcoming drama “The Road: The Tragedy of One” has shared an exciting new preview of its first episode!

“The Road: The Tragedy of One” is a mystery drama about a tragic incident that takes place one night in the pouring rain—and the silence and cover-up that ensue, giving rise to many entangled secrets and leaving further tragedies in their wake.

Ji Jin Hee will star in the drama as Baek Soo Hyun, Korea’s most trusted anchor, who is famous for only speaking the truth even amidst pressure from powerful forces. Yoon Se Ah will star as his wife Seo Eun Soo, a chaebol heiress who is the daughter of Seo Gi Tae (Chun Ho Jin), the chairman of one of Korea’s biggest conglomerates.

The newly teaser begins with Seo Gi Tae addressing a crowd at a party as he speaks boastfully about Royal The Hill, a luxury estate where only affluent people in the top 1 percent of Korea can reside. Emphasizing the influence of Royal The Hill’s powerful residents, he remarks, “They say that if the gates of Royal The Hill explode, South Korea’s clock will stop.”

Back in the newsroom, Baek Soo Hyun reveals to his colleagues, “Two weeks ago, someone sent us a bomb. It means that the moment that we go live with this report, at least dozens of people will be done for.”

The preview goes on to show Baek Soo Hyun’s childhood friend Kim Seok Pil (Lee Jong Hyuk) threatening him, “If you stab me in the back, your son could disappear without a trace.”

Meanwhile, fellow anchor Cha Seo Young (Kim Hye Eun) tells Baek Soo Hyun, “I enjoyed your news report. But don’t you think you you might get fired if you keep it up?”

As tragedy strikes their family, Baek Soo Hyun frantically runs somewhere at night while trying to speak to someone on the phone, and his wife Seo Eun Soo breaks down in tears as she says, “I don’t want to lose anything ever again.” The clip ends with someone ominously declaring, “Yeon Woo [Baek Soo Hyun’s son] has been kidnapped.”

“The Road: The Tragedy of One” will premiere on August 4 at 10:30 p.m. KST. In the meantime, check out the new preview below!
