Watch: AKMU's Lee Suhyun Covers BTS's "Butter" + Lee Dong Wook Joins Onew, 10cm, And More To Perform SHINee's "Stand By Me"
Lee Dong Wook thrilled fans with another venture into singing on JTBC’s “Sea of Hope”!
“Sea of Hope” is a new variety program in which celebrities perform music and prepare homemade dishes for guests at their own seaside bar. The star-studded cast includes Kim Go Eun, Lee Ji Ah, Lee Dong Wook, SHINee’s Onew, AKMU’s Lee Suhyun, and Yoon Jong Shin.
On the September 7 episode of the show, Lee Suhyun serenaded the lucky beachgoers with a gorgeous rendition of BTS’s “Butter.” Although she jokingly worried about getting the English lyrics wrong before she started singing, the talented vocalist successfully pulled off the song with ease—even including the rap at the end.
Later on in the episode, Lee Dong Wook joined Onew, Lee Suhyun, 10cm’s Kwon Jung Yeol, and Yoon Jong Shin on stage for a group performance of SHINee’s “Stand by Me.”
The actor self-deprecatingly joked, “I’m the only one who’s not a singer here, but I came to fill up the headcount. Please excuse my [singing skills].”
Onew went on to bless everyone’s ears with soulful cover of Baek Yerin’s “Maybe It’s Not Our Fault,” while Jung In and Lee Suhyun teamed up for a special performance of HI SUHYUN (Lee Suhyun’s project unit with Lee Hi)’s “I’m Different.”
In addition to 10cm and Lee Suhyun performing their song “Sleepless in Seoul,” 10cm also covered Cool’s classic hit “Aloha,” which was recently repopularized by Jo Jung Suk‘s cover for “Hospital Playlist.”
Finally, Jung In moved everyone with a powerful performance of her emotional hit “I Hate You.”
The final episode of “Sea of Hope” will air on September 14 at 9 p.m. KST.
