1. “Splash Splash Love

“Splash Splash Love” stars Highlight’s Yoon Doo Joon and the charming Kim Seul Gi in a drama world where history and modern day collide. Dan Bi (Kim Seul Gi) is a high school student who magically transports to the Joseon period. In this unfamiliar environment, she meets King Lee Do (Yoon Doojoon). While the two find comfort in each other’s company, they fall in love and embark on a wild romance.

This series is only two episodes, but it manages to leave a strong enough impact that you’ll never forget it. Kim Seul Gi is both hilarious and adorable, with the ability to draw viewers in to her infectious aura. Her chemistry with Yoon Doojoon is the highlight of the series. Seeing them go from being weirded out by each other to falling head over heels in love is the cross-world romance that we didn’t know we needed. 2. “Hometown Cha Cha Cha”

Shin Min Ah plays Yoon Hye Jin, a dentist who quits her job in the city as a result of a fight she gets into with her boss. She goes to a small town to start fresh but finds herself getting into a lot of bad luck when she gets there, causing her to rely on the help of Hong Doo Shik, played by Kim Seon Ho. Doo Shik continually helps Hye Jin while she gets back on her feet, and she eventually opens up a practice in the small town.

There’s a reason why this series has been on everyone’s watchlist these days. Not only are the two main leads absolutely perfect together with their adorable dimples, but the characters within the small town and their stories all make for a healing watch. Doo Shik says in a particular scene when the two main leads are getting soaked in the rain, “You’re bound to meet unexpected situations in life. Even if you use an umbrella, you’ll end up getting drenched.” So deep, so insightful, so true!

3. “Love Rain

“Love Rain” is a classic first love K-drama. It stars Jang Geun Suk as Seo Joon and YoonA as Jung Ha Na. Seo Joon is a hotshot photographer who is also a bit of a playboy. He meets Ha Na and the two fall in love, but what makes their relationship special is that it ties in with their parents’ love story. They come to realize that their fate is intertwined far more than they could have ever imagined.

“Love Rain” is a sweet first love tale that will tug at your heartstrings. It starts off set in the 70s, so it has a very retro and nostalgic feel that is very romantic. The umbrella scene in this particular series is famous as it shows a lovestruck main lead getting drenched in the rain because he is trying to keep his crush from getting wet. It’s got all the ingredients for a romantic tale and it will leave you feeling warm and heartbroken at the same time.

4. “Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food”

“Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food” (also known as “Something in the Rain”) stars Son Ye Jin as Yoon Jin Ah and Jung Hae In as the adorable Seo Joon Hee. The storyline involves Ji Ah and Joon Hee falling in love with each other after having known each other since they were kids. Ji Ah also happens to be best friends with Joon Hee’s older sister. Although there is a bit of an age gap between the two, they fall in love and have to deal with the trials and tribulations of their family members being against them being together.

“Pretty Noona Who Buys Me Food” tells that perfect romantic story with two perfect main leads. Seeing Joon Hee and Jin Ah fall into a whirlwind of a romance with each other is something everyone needs to see. The heat and passion of their chemistry will melt your heart completely. The journey of going from friends, to lovers, to heartbreak, and destiny bringing them together again, the series is perfect for those who are looking for a purely romantic series to cozy into when it’s raining out.

5. “18 Again

Yoon Sang Hyun stars as Hong Dae Young, a man whose girlfriend got pregnant when they were in high school, resulting in the two getting married. Hong Dae Young had to give up his future as a basketball player, and Kim Ha Neul, who plays his wife, had to give up her dreams of being an announcer. After a freak incident, he wakes up to realize that he has returned back to his 18-year-old self. He has been given a second chance to live his life the way he wanted.

This series has got everything that will make your heart want to burst. It touches on the relationship with parents, first loves, the pangs of growing up, and it’s even got an epic love triangle in the script. There is not a second where you will be bored in this series, and best of all, you’ll be left with feelings of happiness and healing once you’re done with it. Lee Do Hyun also won the Best New Actor award at the Baeksang Arts Awards this year for his role in this series, so you’re in for a brilliant performance on his part!

6. “She Was Pretty

“She Was Pretty” stars Hwang Jung Eum as Kim Hye Jin, a woman who used to be very put together and popular with the boys as a kid, but grows up caring a little less about her appearance. She gets a chance at a magazine company where she reunites with her first love, Ji Sung Joon (Park Seo Joon). Sung Joon had been madly in love with Hye Jin when he was younger, but he is now unable to recognize her as an adult.

The trauma that Ji Sung Joon experiences every time it rains could only be helped with the love and support of his first love, Hye Jin. Seeing the two wanting to be with each other but having to overcome so many obstacles in order for it to happen is so heartwarming.
