Cast And Crew Attacked By Bees On The Set Of Joo Ji Hoon And Park Sung Woong's Upcoming Film

The cast and crew were attacked by bees on the set of Joo Ji Hoon and Park Sung Hoon’s upcoming movie “Gentleman.”

“Gentleman” is an action thriller about a private investigator named Ji Hyun Soo, who gets framed for murder and is unexpectedly swept up in a major case while trying to clear his name. It is directed by rookie director Kim Kyung Won and stars Joo Ji Hoon, Choi Sung Eun, and Park Sung Woong.

On October 15, News1 reported that several cast and crew members had been stung by bees on the set of “Gentleman.” This did not include the three lead cast members. Park Sung Woong was not on set that day, and while Joo Ji Hoon and Choi Sung Eun were on set, they were not stung.

According to the fire department, the incident took place on October 14 around 2:21 p.m. The set was in Shinbok-ri, Okcheon-myeon, Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province. About 16 cast members and production staff members were stung by digger wasps. During filming, someone disturbed the hive and all those who were nearby were stung. Three people received treatment from the emergency services that were deployed in response. Including those three people, 13 people received treatment at the hospital. Three of the people who were stung did not require treatment. The fire department confirmed that they had safely cleared the hive.

A source from Wavve, the production company behind “Gentleman,” stated, “All the cast and crew members who were stung have returned to work and we are continuing filming as usual. It was just one scene that was slightly delayed, so there are no major impediments to the filming schedule.”

“Gentleman” began filming in September and is slated to premiere in May 2022.
