Watch: Shim Dal Gi Is A Social Media Star With A Shocking Secret In New Drama With Golden Child's Bomin And PENTAGON's Hongseok
Kakao TV’s upcoming drama “Shadow Beauty” (literal translation) has unveiled its first teaser and poster!
Based on a popular webtoon, “Shadow Beauty” will tell the story of high school student Goo Ae Jin, who is a bullied loner at school (played by Shim Dal Gi). However, she leads a double life online as a social media star and influencer named “Genie” who is renowned for her flawless looks (played by fromis_9‘s Lee Nagyung).
Golden Child‘s Bomin will star in the drama as class president Kim Ho In, while PENTAGON‘s Hongseok will star as idol trainee Lee Jin Sung.
The newly released teaser features Goo Ae Jin in bed as she scrolls through a flood of comments praising Genie’s beauty, with her awestruck followers writing things like “What does it feel like to live with a face like this?”, “She’s a goddess,” and “Your beauty is breathtaking.” However, one comment stands out from the rest: “I saw Genie today. She looked really different from her photos…”
After reading the comment, Goo Ae Jin is unable to hide her horror as she panics at the idea of her secret being found out.

A new poster for the upcoming drama captures the same scene right before Goo Ae Jin spots the alarming comment. The caption reads, “The unexpected double life of a social media goddess with 770,000 followers.”
“Shadow Beauty” will premiere on November 20 at 8 p.m. KST.
