Jang Hyuk Joins "Running Man" Cast In Teasing Kim Jong Kook About His Past And Current "Love Lines"

On the November 7 episode of SBS’s “Running Man,” actor Jang Hyuk joined as a guest for the show’s “mountaineering club” race.

At the start of the episode, all the members appeared in different styles of mountaineering gear to head off to see the autumn foliage. Yoo Jae Suk looked at Yang Se Chan and Jun So Min together and joked, “Is she your girlfriend or your wife?” and Yang Se Chan replied, “We’re in the getting-to-know-each-other phase.”

The cast and guest got in two-person rickshaws and Yoo Jae Suk matched up Jun So Min and Yang Se Chan in the same cart. He then told Jang Hyuk and Kim Jong Kook to get in the same cart, since the two are known to be long-time friends. However, HaHa interjected, “You have no tact,” pointing at Song Ji Hyo, referring to the show’s “love line” between Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo.

Yoo Jae Suk joked to Jang Hyuk, “These two are also in the getting-to-know-each-other phase,” and asked him, “Are you for it or against it?” Jang Hyuk quipped back, “Well, if they’re just getting to know each other…”

Yoo Jae Suk added, “You put that message in your new song, didn’t you?” When Kim Jong Kook asked what he was talking about, Yoo Jae Suk quipped, “Walking with her.” This is a reference to Kim Jong Kook’s new song release, a cover of Jo Yong Pil’s “Walking Along with You.” Yoo Jae Suk said, “Isn’t it suspicious releasing a song about walking next to someone at this time?” and HaHa added, “It’s such strange timing.”

During the episode, Jun So Min mentioned that she is a huge fan of Jang Hyuk. She joked, “I helped make him famous. In middle school, I liked him so much that I bought his magazines and put them up on the wall. I liked him from the moment he appeared in g.o.d’s music video. I was also an avid viewer of his ‘School’ drama.”

Jang Hyuk and the cast also talked about some of Kim Jong Kook’s past “love lines.” Ji Suk Jin said, “I heard that Chae Yeon liked you.” Chae Yeon, whose real name is Lee Jin Sook, was a popular dance singer in the early 2000s and appeared on “X-Man” with Kim Jong Kook and actress Yoon Eun Hye. Kim Jong Kook said, “At that time, Jin Sook and I were just fan and celebrity.”

Yoo Jae Suk said, “There used to be a show called ‘Star Date,’ where you’d spend two days with your favorite star. Before she debuted in the entertainment industry, Chae Yeon sent in a request to appear on the show. But later she appeared on ‘X-Man.’ Kim Jong Kook garnered a lot of attention by asking her, ‘Jin Sook, how have you been?”

Ji Suk Jin asked, “So was it a love triangle with Yoon Eun Hye?”, and Jang Hyuk quipped, “It wasn’t a love triangle. There was something on both sides. You need to think about why he’s drinking so much water right now. He’s nervous.”
