Update: Super Junior's Choi Siwon To Resume Activities After Recovering From COVID-19

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon has recovered from COVID-19.

On December 19, SM Entertainment stated, “Choi Siwon has been released from quarantine today as government health authorities have determined that there is no longer a risk of him spreading the virus, and he has been deemed clinically recovered from COVID-19.”

SM Entertainment added, “He is planning to resume activities while adhering to the regulations put in place by health authorities.”

Following his recovery, Choi Siwon also took to Twitter to share a reassuring message to his fans.

After Super Junior’s Choi Siwon tested positive for COVID-19, Label SJ shared that the other members have tested negative.

Here is Label SJ’s full statement:

Hello, this is Label SJ.

Except for Choi Siwon, all Super Junior members tested negative for COVID-19.

All members of Super Junior have been completely vaccinated for COVID-19, and we will continue to strive for the health and safety of artists through regular pre-emptive tests.

We would like to deeply express our deep gratitude to the fans who were worried [about the members] and were waiting [for the results].

Super Junior’s Choi Siwon recently tested positive for COVID-19.

On December 10, SM Entertainment released a statement saying that Choi Siwon had been diagnosed with a breakthrough infection despite being fully vaccinated. As a result, all his scheduled activities have been halted and he will no longer be able to attend 2021 MAMA as a presenter.

The following is SM’s full statement:

Hello, this is SM Entertainment.

This morning (December 10), Choi Siwon tested positive for COVID-19.

He had been fully vaccinated with two doses in September. As part of the precautions for his regular entertainment activities, he took a PCR COVID-19 test and received a positive result.

He has halted all his scheduled activities and is in self-quarantine. He will no longer be able to attend the 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (2021 MAMA) as a presenter on December 11.

All the other Super Junior members and the staff that had been in contact with him are being tested for COVID-19.

Choi Siwon and the agency will actively follow the directions of the disease control authorities and we will do our best for his speedy recovery.
