JYP Addresses Status Of Other 2PM Members' Contracts After Chansung Announces His Departure

JYP Entertainment has made a statement regarding the 2PM members’ contracts following Chansung’s announcement that he is leaving the agency.

On December 15, Chansung announced his plans to get married and revealed that his fiancée, who is not a celebrity, is currently pregnant. The 2PM member also shared that his contract with his longtime agency JYP Entertainment ends in January 2022, and he will not be renewing his contract after it expires.

Following the news of Chansung’s departure, JYP Entertainment clarified that the other 2PM members—Jun.K, Nichkhun, Wooyoung, and Lee Junho—still have considerable time left on their contracts and will not be leaving the agency. (Taecyeon, who chose not to join his bandmates in renewing his contract with JYP Entertainment back in January 2018, is currently the only member of the group who belongs to a different agency.)

A representative of JYP Entertainment told Star News, “When the [2PM] members renewed their contracts, every member ended up with a different contract period, and in Chansung’s case, his contract period has ended. The remaining members (Jun.K, Nichkhun, Wooyoung, Junho) still have a lot of time left on their contracts.”
