IVE's "ELEVEN" Rises Back To No. 1; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2022, January Week 3
IVE’s “ELEVEN” recaptured the top spot this week! After falling to No. 2 last week, “ELEVEN” won a close battle between the top three songs to once again becomes the No. 1 song. Overall, it is the third week “ELEVEN” has topped the chart. Congratulations to IVE!
Debuting at No. 2 is IU’s “Winter Sleep,” the title song from IU’s special album “Pieces.” This is piano based ballad written by IU herself. She also wrote the poetic lyrics about the feeling of emptiness when someone she loved passed away. But when she sees flowers bloom, stars rise, and cities and towns are born in repeated seasons, she doesn’t break down anymore.
aespa’s “Dreams Come True,” last week’s champion, dropped two spots to No. 3 this week.
There are two more new songs in the top 10 this week. SM Entertainment’s female project group GOT the beat debuts at No. 6 with “Step Back.” This star-studded group is made up of BoA, Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Seulgi and Wendy, and aespa’s Karina and Winter. “Step Back” is an hip hop R&B song with repetitive bass and instrumental variations, and the members’ unique and solid vocals enhance the song
Kep1er’s debut song “WA DA DA” enters the chart at No. 8 this week. A nine-member girl group, Kep1er is made up of the top contestants from the survival program “Girls Planet 999.” The title track of Kep1er’s debut album “FIRST IMPACT,” “WA DA DA” is a dance track that expresses their energetic and lovely charms. The song expresses the girl group’s ambitions to achieve their dreams and repay the love of fans.
