Kim Junsu Tests Positive For COVID-19

Kim Junsu has been diagnosed with a breakthrough infection of COVID-19.

On February 6, his agency, PALMTREE ISLAND, released the following statement:

Hello, this is PALMTREE ISLAND.

Today (February 6), our artist Kim Junsu received a positive result on his COVID-19 PCR test.

Yesterday (February 5), Kim Junsu heard that one of the actors in his musical with had tested positive for COVID-19. He decided to take a rapid antigen test out of precaution, and the five tests he took all came back negative.

He later participated in an additional round of PCR testing with the cast and crew of the musical. A little while ago, he heard back from the public health authorities that he had tested positive. Kim Junsu had already received the booster shot (Moderna) of the COVID-19 vaccine, and he has been regularly tested with rapid antigen tests and PCR tests during his work schedule.

Kim Junsu has canceled his schedule and is taking the necessary measures directed by the public health authorities. The agency will follow the directions of the public health authorities and do our best for the safety and health of our artists.

Kim Junsu is currently starring in the musical “Excalibur,” which is running from January 29 to March 13. He is also gearing up for the production of the musical “Death Note,” which will run from April 1 to June 26.
