IST Entertainment's Boy Group Survival Show To Postpone Premiere Due To Some Trainees Testing Positive For COVID-19

Upcoming boy group survival show “THE ORIGIN – A, B, OR What?” is delaying its premiere.

“THE ORIGIN – A, B, OR What?” is a program that is jointly produced by Kakao Entertainment and Sony Music Solutions. It features trainees being evaluated on their skills by senior K-pop artists, expert judges, and live audience members, and it will give viewers a chance to see the contestants’ growth potential as they compete to debut.

Earlier this month, it was confirmed that the show would premiere on February 26 at 5 p.m. KST via MBN, Kakao TV, and 1theK.

However, on February 22, MBN and Kakao TV announced that the premiere date would be postponed due to some trainees testing positive for COVID-19.

Hello, this is MBN and Kakao TV’s production team.

Last week, some of the trainees from the show were in poor condition and underwent preemptive PCR testing. As a result, they were diagnosed with COVID-19, and they are currently taking necessary measures in accordance with the guidelines of the disease control authorities.

In order to adjust part of the filming schedule and secure a safe production environment, MBN, Kakao TV, and IST Entertainment decided that it was inevitable to change the broadcast schedule and postpone the premiere, which was originally scheduled for February 26, to March 19. We ask for the generous understanding of the fans who waited with affection.

We thank the medical staff who are working hard for the health of the people, and we will continue to actively cooperate with the disease control authorities’ guidelines and do our best for the health and safety of the trainees and production staff.

Thank you.
