4 Points To Look Forward To In The Upcoming Romantic Comedy "A Business Proposal"
The first episode of “A Business Proposal” is almost here!
Based on a popular web novel that has been adapted into a webtoon, “A Business Proposal” is a romantic comedy about an office employee who goes on a blind date with her company’s CEO in place of a friend while hiding her identity. Ahn Hyo Seop will star as chaebol heir Kang Tae Mu, who has everything from looks and brains to wealth and business savvy. Meanwhile, Kim Sejeong will star as food researcher Shin Ha Ri, who stands in for her best friend and chaebol heiress Jin Young Seo (Seol In Ah) at a blind date with Kang Tae Mu. However, things are made complicated by an unexpected snag in their plan: Kang Tae Mu just so happens to be Shin Ha Ri’s boss.
Ahead of the premiere, here are four points to look forward to:
1. Romantic comedy adapted from a popular webtoon
“A Business Proposal” is based on a popular webtoon. The story begins with a tale of deceit: Shin Ha Ri somehow ends up hiding her identity, but Kang Tae Mu still wants to get to know her. The love story that spans between their workplace and their daily lives initially brought excitement to many people. As of February 2022, the webtoon and original web novel have recorded a cumulative 450 million domestic and international views. Based on the massive success of the webtoon, there is much excitement around the upcoming drama.
2. Ahn Hyo Seop, Kim Sejeong, Kim Min Kyu, and Seol In Ah’s chemistry
Ahn Hyo Seop, who boasts a warm face and handsome physical appearance, plays Kang Tae Mu, the extremely handsome male protagonist who is a third generation chaebol CEO. The lovable Kim Sejeong plays ordinary company employee Shin Ha Ri who goes on a blind date and transforms into a femme fatale alter ego. Together, their romance will alter from being comedic to heart-fluttering.
In addition to this, Kim Min Kyu will play Kang Tae Mu’s chief secretary Cha Sung Hoon, while Seol In Ah plays Jin Young Seo, Shin Ha Ri’s best friend and the only daughter of a chaebol family. The four characters’ intertwined stories will create exciting and fun chemistry. The four actors had great teamwork on set while filming, and this chemistry will make the drama even more charming.
3. Unique characters and actors
In addition to the main leads, Lee Deok Hwa, Kim Kwang Gyu, Jung Young Joo, Kim Hyun Sook, Song Won Seok, and VICTON’s Byungchan play unique characters within “A Business Proposal.” Lee Deok Hwa plays Kang Da Goo, the president of food company K-FRESH and Kang Tae Mu’s grandfather. He is also the brilliant mastermind behind the project to get Kang Tae Mu married. Kim Kwang Gyu, Jung Young Joo, and Byungchan will join the cast as members of Shin Ha Ri’s family, playing Shin Joong Hae, Han Mi Mo, and Shin Ha Min, respectively. Kim Hyun Sook will play Yeo Eui Joo, Shin Ha Ri’s boss. Song Won Seok plays Shin Ha Ri’s male friend Lee Min Woo, igniting her love story.
4. Energetic directing and witty lines
“A Business Proposal” is helmed by Park Sun Ho who directed “Suspicious Partner” and “Wok of Love.” He plans to bring the webtoon to life through the exciting romance. Writers Han Seol Hee and Hong Bo Hee, who wrote the sitcom “Rude Miss Young Ae,” will fill the drama with witty lines and comedic events. The show plans to fight viewers’ Monday blues through a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere.
