Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun, And More Share Closing Comments On

The lead actors of JTBC’s “Thirty-Nine” shared farewell messages to the viewers!

“Thirty-Nine” recently aired its last episode that achieved its highest viewership ratings yet.

As the drama came to a close, Son Ye Jin, Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun, Yeon Wo Jin, Lee Moo Saeng, and Lee Tae Hwan took a moment to look back on their experience filming the series and thank the viewers.

First, Son Ye Jin, who played the warm and caring dermatologist Cha Mi Jo, commented, “As an actress and a woman who has just passed 39 years of age, this project has comforted me a lot. I think I’ll remember this moment and this age that will never return as the drama ‘Thirty-Nine.'”

Concerning Cha Mi Jo, she shared, “I acted with the thought that she’s a character who has pain but is mature and warm. She is a courageous person who can give up herself for her friends, and I want to be like her.”

Lastly, she added, “While reading the script and filming [the drama], I thought a lot about how ‘Thirty-Nine’ is a story that resembles our lives. It was my first time starring in a project about a same-sex friendship, so it was a time where I thought a lot more. I also envied the friendship of those who cared about each other more than themselves. I hope this drama gave a little warmth to your tired life. While relating with the viewers, being in pain with them, and receiving comfort, I was happy.”

Jeon Mi Do, who portrayed the strong and bold Jung Chan Young, said, “I was able to show you a different side of me with Jung Chan Young. I am very grateful that many people shed tears and sympathized [with the character]. Now I have to say goodbye to Chan Young, but I am very sad. It was an honor to join ‘Thirty-Nine,’ and I look forward to seeing everyone in good health.”

Kim Ji Hyun, who completed the trio as the silly yet sweet Jang Joo Hee, stated, “It feels like yesterday that I watched the first episode with nervousness, but it’s already the last one. Time flew by. I’d like to thank all the cast and crew, who worked hard for a good drama, and the viewers who laughed and cried with Mi Jo, Chan Young, and Joo Hee.”

Yeon Woo Jin stole hearts with his charming acting as Cha Mi Jo’s love interest Kim Sun Woo. Through his agency Jump Entertainment, the actor remarked, “I had a very meaningful time playing Kim Sun Woo. I have asked countless questions and concerns to be a better human being and a good adult, and I have come to realize various understandings and views of the world and people. I think it will be a good nourishment for acting in the future.”

Then he thanked the cast, crew, and viewers, saying, “Thanks to [everyone], I was able to laugh a lot until the end and enjoy filming. I want to express my gratitude to everyone who was with me.”

Lee Moo Saeng received raving reviews for his acting as Kim Jin Seok, Jung Chan Young’s lover. The actor commented, “Time has passed by already, and ‘Thirty-Nine’ has come to an end. As always, at the end, I’m flooded with emotions, including excitement from the beginning and regret. Like Jin Seok said, each day was valuable and precious for me. It was also a more meaningful and happy time because I was able to be with the best staff, writer, and director and amazing actors. More than anything, I’d like to thank the viewers for their generous love.”

He added, “There were many flowers in our drama. These days, when you are struggling with COVID-19, I hope you were healed for a while, and I hope that ‘Thirty-Nine’ will be remembered as a subtle and fragrant drama like a bouquet of flowers in your tired daily life. Thank you again for your love and support, and I will come back as a better version of myself in another project. Always be healthy and healthy and love this moment with the precious people around you, and thank you for being the most exciting viewer in the world until the end.”

Lee Tae Hwan boasted perfect synchronization with his character Park Hyun Joon, a chef and Jang Joo Hee’s love interest.

The actor stated, “It seems like yesterday that I was cooking with a wok in the kitchen that was as hot as the boiling summer. It’s unfortunate that we already have to say goodbye. I wish that the end of ‘Thirty-Nine’ was an April Fool’s Day joke. I’m grateful to the director, writer, actors, and staff members who worked hard with me. I was able to finish filming well because I was with good people.”

Lee Tae Hwan ended his comment with, “‘Thirty-Nine’ is a project that is like a warm spring day where every minute and second is memorable in my heart. I hope it will be remembered as a warm healing drama for viewers. Thank you for watching and supporting us.”
