NCT DREAM And Stray Kids Earn Gaon Double Million And Million Certifications; TWICE, Red Velvet, And More Go Platinum
Gaon Chart has announced its latest batch of official certifications!
In 2018, the Korea Music Content Industry Association implemented a new certification system for album sales, song downloads, and online streaming. Starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum once they reach 250,000 sales, while albums that have sold a million copies or more receive a “million” certification.
Aside from their new million certification for “ODDINARY,” Stray Kids also earned three other official Gaon certifications this month. Their 2021 holiday single album “Christmas EveL” was certified triple platinum for selling over 750,000 copies, while their first studio album “GO生” (“GO LIVE”) went double platinum for selling over 500,000 copies.
Finally, Stray Kids’ 2018 mini album “I am YOU” was certified platinum after selling over 250,000 copies.
In the streaming category, two “How Do You Play?” project groups went platinum this month: MSG Wannabe (M.O.M)’s “Foolish Love” and SSAK3’s “Beach Again” were both certified platinum after surpassing 100 million streams, along with The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber’s hit song “Stay.”
Congratulations to all of the artists on their impressive achievements!
