Stray Kids And TXT Make Billboard’s List Of Best Albums In 2022 Thus Far
With almost half of 2022 already gone, on June 6 local time, Billboard shared their picks of the 50 best albums released so far this year.
After its release in March, “ODDINARY” impressively made its debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making them only the third Korean artist in history to top the chart. Regarding the album, Billboard wrote, “‘ODDINARY’ mixes pop hooks, rap cadences and dance tempos in a manner familiar to mainstream K-pop, but each song lands with a dazzling intensity, from the wind-up electronic slither of the ‘Venom’ beat to the breathless vocal workouts of ‘Freeze.'”
Billboard describes TXT’s “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” as an album that includes moody alt-R&B ballads, a hint of *NSYNC, ’80s synth-pop, and more, mixing a wide variety of genres in only five tracks. The album has become TXT’s third release to debut at the top of Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and earned the group their highest debut on the Billboard 200 at No. 4.
