SEVENTEEN Describes New Album "SECTOR 17," Fun Anecdotes From Preparations, And More

For the release of their new repackaged album “SECTOR 17,” SEVENTEEN participated in an interview where they spoke about making a quick comeback, their album preparations, and more!

On July 18 at 6 p.m. KST, SEVENTEEN returned with their fourth repackaged album “SECTOR 17” along with a music video for new title track “_WORLD.” The album also features three new b-sides, including “Circles,” “Fallin’ Flower (Korean Ver.),” and “CHEERS,” which is performed by the group’s leader line.

With “SECTOR 17” dropping only about two months after SEVENTEEN released their fourth studio album “Face the Sun,” leader S.Coups commented, “I felt really grateful because our fourth studio album received so much love. That’s why when we were preparing our repackaged album, I really wanted to fill it with even better songs. Just like the message this album captures, we’ve returned after completing preparations to run towards a new peak so we ask for a lot of love, attention, and anticipation for this album too.”

DK continued, “It feels like we’re getting a new start with ‘SECTOR 17’ so it feels new and good. This is an album we prepared diligently and an album filled with music that [our fans] Carats will like so I’ll be thankful if you give it lots of love.”

Seungkwan shared, “This is SEVENTEEN’s first repackaged album for a studio album in six years after our first studio album ‘Love & Letter‘ so it feels new and I’m really looking forward to it.”

When asked to describe “SECTOR 17” and its charms, Woozi responded, “If you look at SEVENTEEN’s journey to become the sun, it’ll be good if you look at this album. I think you’ll be able to feel double of SEVENTEEN’s unique charms.”

The8 continued, “It’s jam-packed with the love we feel for Carats. I figure that’s the charm of this album.”

Looking back on their preparations, SEVENTEEN also picked what aspects they focused most on. Joshua shared, “In this album, we captured our ambitions and dreams to go even higher and tried to fill the album with our desire to grow alongside Carats.”

Jun adorably added, “I wanted to show Carats a new image so I thought about what color I should dye my hair this time.”

Mingyu commented, “Although I focused on all aspects, I think we focused the most on storytelling. So that the story can continue from our fourth studio album ‘Face the Sun,’ to our world tour ‘BE THE SUN,’ and ‘SECTOR 17,’ where SEVENTEEN discovers a new world.”

The group also shared fun anecdotes from their preparation period, with S.Coups explaining, “On the day of our music video filming, it was pouring rain with thunder and lightning so before filming even began, I worried, ‘What if we can’t [film]?’ Fascinatingly, the rain stopped in time for our filming. When it rains, I always think of Carats first so it felt like Carats were with us on the day of our music video filming.”

Wonwoo continued, “I remember going back and forth between filming the ‘_WORLD’ music video and preparing for our concert. Despite that, the members prepared everything well. On top of being happy with the final results, I felt grateful that we could do it together.”

Dino added, “While filming the music video, there’s a scene where we’re all having a good time together. When I monitored [this scene] on set, I remember everyone really looking happy. I remember it as the moment where I gained confidence that Carats and many other people would immerse well into this song.”

For the perfect moment to listen to “_WORLD,” Jeonghan answered, “When SEVENTEEN goes on our world tour, it’ll be good if you think about us and listen to ‘_WORLD.'” Hoshi shared, “I think it’ll be good if office workers and students listen on their way to and from work and school while looking out the window.”

Dino added, “I think ‘_WORLD’ is a song that reminds you of a happy day. It’s good if you reminisce about happy moments while listening and I want to recommend it for when you’re going on vacation or you’re with people you love.”

To describe “SECTOR 17” with a brief phrase, S.Coups said, “SEVENTEEN’s unique start towards a new peak,” while Hoshi stated, “our own path.” Wonwoo shared, “a new attempt,” and Woozi answered, “elegance.” Seungkwan shared, “a gift set.”

Lastly, all 13 members shared a message to Carats all over the globe. S.Coups commented, “I’m always thankful that you give us so much love regardless of what kind of image or album we come out with. Through Carats’ support, SEVENTEEN will always gain strength and promote diligently and happily so I hope that Carats are even happier than we are. In the future, we will have a lot of days together so let’s only look at one another, trust, and move forward. Thank you, always.”

Jeonghan commented, “Carats, please spend this hot summer refreshingly while listening to our song.” Joshua continued, “Thank you for giving us so much love up until now. SEVENTEEN is a group with a lot of ambition and a group with a lot of ambition and desire to grow so let’s all combine strength and move towards the top.”

Jun added, “Through ‘_WORLD,’ you’ll be able to feel SEVENTEEN’s unique, refreshing vibe, so please look forward to it lots.” Hoshi shared, “Thank you always for sending lots of love, from both near and far. We will repay [that love] with our performances. Everyone, be healthy and filled with only happy things.”

Wonwoo commented, “I always have a thankful heart. Through music we can enjoy together, we will support each other’s lives.” Woozi briefly shared, “Please give ‘SECTOR 17’ lots of love! Wooahae!”, a term combining Woozi’s name with “I love you” that he uses to express his affection for fans.

The8 shared, “Through this album, I hope Carats all over the world will be able to feel our love. No matter where you are, we will seek you out, so please wait for us. I love you.” Mingyu commented, “Carats, I’ll see you soon.”

DK shared, “Thanks to Carats, we’re always able to work hard and gain strength to promote. I sincerely thank you for always giving us such pretty love. With our North American tour to start, we want to go on many journeys together and make precious memories while meeting with Carats all over the world. Please always be healthy and eat well. I hope your lives are only filled with happy things.”

Seungkwan commented, “This comeback too was possible thanks to Carats. I think Carats will really like all four new songs on this album. Please listen lots and always be happy.” Vernon shared, “Thank you, always. I hope you also really like this album too. Please always be healthy.”

Finally, Dino commented, “For Carats, we also prepared this album with great care. I hope the energy we want to convey is conveyed well to Carats. Please give ‘_WORLD’ lots of love and I hope there are many days where you smile. Thank you.”
