BLACKPINK Officially Achieves Their Biggest MV Debut Ever With “Pink Venom”

BLACKPINK has officially set new YouTube records with “Pink Venom”!

On August 19 at 1 p.m. KST, BLACKPINK made their long-awaited return with their new pre-release single “Pink Venom.” 24 hours later, on August 20 at 1 p.m. KST, the music video had a total of approximately 86,228,516 views on YouTube, but the view count was not officially confirmed.

On August 22, YouTube officially confirmed that BLACKPINK’s “Pink Venom” had amassed over 90.4 million views in its first 24 hours!

This marks the biggest 24-hour music video debut of 2022, as well as BLACKPINK’s biggest music video debut ever. Taking over their own record set by “How You Like That” in 2020, “Pink Venom” now extends BLACKPINK’s record for the highest number of views ever achieved by a female artist’s music video in its first 24 hours. “Pink Venom” has also earned a spot in the top three biggest 24-hour music video debuts in YouTube history!

Since its release a few days ago, “Pink Venom” has swept iTunes charts around the world, been shown love from Brazilian soccer star Neymar, become the first Korean-language song in history to top Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart, and fly past 100 million views in just over 29 hours.

Next week, BLACKPINK will perform “Pink Venom” at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards and the group’s second studio album “BORN PINK” will be released on September 16.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
